About

My name is Carmelita; I am a licensed counselor, wife, and mom of 2 toddlers. Before I was a counselor I wore many hats but one that was dear to me was being an early childhood educator in my early career.

I own a private practice where I see people healing from relationship-based trauma and children needing help with self-regulation due to trauma.

I decided to start this blog both as an outlet for myself (because I love writing) and as a resource for other moms dealing with issues such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder, postpartum depression and anxiety, parenting issues, and finding yourself in different stages of life.

I named the blog Exhale, Mama because if you pay close attention to your breath there is a brief pause between your exhale and your next inhale. This blog is about finding the pauses in your life and what to do with them. When we find the pauses we become aware we have options, when we recognize our options we open the door to making better choices.

I hope you find this blog helpful!

Exhale, mama & peace be with you.
